Sparkling Snowman

Once again folks, the title links you to the pattern location. Pictures really don't do this little guy justice! He was super easy to make, though he took me about six hours, slightly distracted. I stuffed him rather tight, as it was easy to loose his spherical shape if you don't. I had a blast with him, and he's being added to my collection of holiday amigurumis that I'm doing. Next up is a Reindeer, so keep your eyes peeled!

Christmas Mouse

Well, once again, the title links to the website where you can find the pattern for this cute little guy. He's actually supposed to be more round.....I skimped on the stuffing, so the next one I make, if he comes out more round-ish, I'll post a comparison picture so we can all look at it. This guy is already SUPER popular for Christmas presents and I have I think 8 of these guys requested already......from only 2 people! Tons of ideas....fill it with catnip for your cat, stuff a little bit of popurri (sp) in it to add some pzaz to your gift, embroider the scarf with a name and year to add that extra personal touch....there's really nothing you can't do to these little guys.

Sugar Glider Pouch

Well, I'm back again! My husband recently purchased a sugar glider, and she came with a cage, a pouch, and a few other items. However, hubby was having some issues getting Ms. Jullian (the previous owner had originally thought she was a "he", and named her after King Jullian from Madagascar) out of her bag, and, in frustration, said, "Why don't you make something for her?" I also plan on attempting to make some toys for her, but for now, she has a new bag! Rather stylish too, I might add.

Pattern wise......I stole the base from a pattern that was already created, and then just went crazy on my own. I used single crochet and every 5th row was half double crochet, to give it some texture. The very last row I did double crochet to give it that last little bit of height. The strings were chained up and single crocheted down, then slip stitched until I reached where I wanted my next string. Seeing as the straps are crocheted into the piece, there's no way Ms. Jullian can separate the strings from her pouch. I hope she starts using it soon! If and when she does, I'll have to try and get some pictures of her in it for you all. She's absolutely adorable!

UPDATE! She uses it now!!!

Easy Peasy Catnip Mouse

Well, I was getting rather bored of working on my V-stitch blanky for my twin mattress, so I decided I'd hop online and see if I could randomly find some catnip toy patterns. I've made some stuffed critters in the past, so I figured I'd probably be able to make some no problem. I found this pattern at another blogger's site (click the title and it'll take you to her site and the pattern), and made a few, then immediately took pictures with my cat, Jet.

Then, I got the bright idea that, since we always go to Petsmart on the weekends, and the no-kill shelters are always there, I should make a few for their kitties, too. More crazy catnip fun to go around! Figured they might sell them, if they chose to, or they could simply use them for their own kitties (I swear I'm going to show up and personally hand a few straight to the kitties!). Well, they'd like to use them as a fundraiser, and so now they've asked me to make as many as I can make before the 21st of this month. Now, I've already made almost twenty of them, between the 9 I dropped off the first time, the 3 I made for my own cats, and the 8 I have waiting to go to the fundraiser, so I'm getting rather sick of them at this point, but oh well! They are adorable, I just need to make sure I'm switching up my projects so I don't get bored; ADD anyone?

These mice are going to The Haven, Friends for Life no-kill shelter based in Fayetteville, NC. Once I have as many as I can get done for the fundraiser done, I'll take a picture of the army of catnip mice, and I'll update you all with how much money they were able to raise for the shelter with the mice. If you're in the area, might as well see if you can whip up a few as well, and take them to Petsmart one weekend. I'm sure they'll be appreciated!
